His name - Karosta - the building is notorious because it is there for a long time, there was a prison where he is serving sentence Soviet and Nazi prisoners during World War II and after. Today it is - a thematic hotel, the walls of which less than a century ago, there were mass executions, and now rest thrill seekers.

An unusual hotel is considered one of the main attractions of Latvia, it is in the city of Liepaja. Visitors are invited to tour, during which everyone can visit the most hidden corners of the old prison, learn scary stories about ghosts and all sorts of mysterious incidents that have occurred within these walls, visit the museum Karosta and, most importantly, book your stay in one of the prison cells .

Karosta unique in that it allows our contemporaries look at a real prison life of the communist era. Of course, all this is more like a good publicity stunt, except that the visitors before visiting the prison signed an agreement under which the staff treat them as prisoners. And this has led to a conclusion that a walk through the dungeons Karosta little resemblance to the costume show.

Accommodation at the hotel the night in the chamber assumes no amenities - just an old mattress, postelennuyu on wooden boards, lunch, served through the tiny barred window in the door, and, of course, does unflattering treatment by the "protection." The property subject to the same laws as in an ordinary prison: any refusal to obey the rules is punishable by physical punishment and forced cleaning of the territory.

If the prison regime would be impressive enough for guests, staff is ready to share many frightening stories about ghosts living here. That light bulb itself can be turned out, the doors open, sometimes the sound of chains in the old crossings or blows cold off the walls. By the way, the world-famous ghost hunters, the company «Ghost Hunters International» in 2009, visited the hotel, and finally said that it is one of the most active places in which they had visited.

Karosta building was constructed in 1900, was originally used as a hospital, and later - as a prison and the Soviet and Nazi executive agencies. During the war, the Nazis shot here Latvian deserters. To fully realize the horror that people have experienced, being here in prison, it is enough to see the preserved inscription on the wall of an encrypted single camera: «izeja no elles», which translated from the Latvian means "the way out of hell."
