Spectacular place on the reservoir Ledibauer (13 photos)



These zamechatlnye photos with Ledibauer reservoir, which is located in the English county of Derbyshire.  Ledibauer is a Y-shaped reservoir, which flow into the River Derwent and Eshop.


Its length is just over 3 miles (4.8 km), at the time of construction it was the largest reservoir in the United Kingdom.


Construction began in 1935, but because of the Second World War dragged on, it took a while to fill the reservoir, dam and two viaducts and Eshopton Ledibauer.


The opening ceremony, which was attended by King George VI, accompanied by Queen Elizabeth, was held September 25, 1945


The project has two dam spillway of 24 m and 4.6 m in diameter, resembling the inverted bell.
